Scottsdale Latin Group 6th year Anniversary:  March 20, 2010  7pm – 12am

Despite the valley boasting 4.2 million people with countless individuals from around the world living here, it is a melting pot and everyone seems to blend in. Unfortunately, people lose their language & culture in an effort to fit in.
In the fall of 2003, Katalina Gomez missed the Latin lifestyle so much that she attempted find a house in Miami, Florida to move permanently. Hurricane Frances disrupted her stay there and she was unable to even look for a place to live. This proved to be a blessing in disguise.
In March of 2004, at an Ecuadorian party, Katalina and others agreed that the valley is missing a cultural identity. They decided, “Let’s have small gatherings with home cooked food, music and dancing more often!”
Soon, word spread about the events & almost every time Katalina heard, “Thank you for inviting me, I’ve missed my food, music & people so much.” And “When is the next event?”
Approaching 2010, the Scottsdale Latin Group has grown tremendously and has been fortunate to work with great organizations such as New York Life, City of Scottsdale, City of Grace Church, and Scottsdale Cultural Council. Also, they launched their official website in October 2009, designed by Clara Dubash of Barranquilla, Colombia.

Now 6 years after on March 20 2010 the SLG is ready to celebrate it’s 6th Anniversary

MUSIC: Take a journey through South America with the voices & rhythms of  Guitarras Latinas, a celebrated 5 piece band that plays songs from every South American country.

CUISINE: Poloni Argentinean Cuisine will cater this evening with the delicious tastes of the Buenos Aires.(Food included in ticket price!)

DANCING: Colombian DJ mixing Salsa, Latin Pop & Rock all night…
