I remember when I was a kid, growing up in Mexico, my biggest dream was to become a Luchador. I used to go every weekend to see Las Luchas and it was the great. I saw many famous luchadores. I remember seeing Mil Mascaras, Rayo de Jalisco, El Hijo del Santo, Huracan Ramirez, Perro Aguayo, Blue Demon, etc. As I grew up, I didn’t go as often and now I sometimes watch them in TV, they are fun to watch, they remind me when I was a kid and most important of all, they have become part of the Mexican Pop Culture, and I’m tempted to say that the worlds pop culture.

Lucha Libre

Lucha Libre

I brought this up, because I came across a really interesting article in www.cnnexpansion.com, a Mexican magazine about business and life style, about a videogame that should be released sometime in the near future. It is the game of the AAA, and it looks like anyone who feels like being Blue Demon or El Santo will be able to, at least for a while.

What I found really interesting is that the game is being developed in Mexico by entrepreneurial Mexican Studios and Software Firms. This is particularly interesting to me because they share some of my biggest passions, Mexico, software and business. Some other games that are either on plan or being developed are Microbus Driver, for whomever knows what a microbus from Mexico City is, and a mariachi game, similar to Guitar Hero but with mariachis.

I really believe this is great because of two reasons. First of all, the software and other service industries have a huge potential for development in Mexico and Latin America, so it is good to learn about the people that are actually making it happen. Also, it is always great to watch elements of our Hispanic culture going global.
